Larry Mortimer, 79, of Eagle River, Wis., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021.

Larry was born April 29, 1942, in Elgin, Ill., to Richard and Thelma Mortimer.

After graduating from Crystal Lake High School he enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force. Following his service, he worked as an electrician for IBEW Local 117.

He married his wife, Kathryn Stapel, on June 28, 1975. Following their marriage, they raised their family in Marengo, Ill. After 33 years they moved to Eagle River.

Larry is survived by his wife, Kathryn Mortimer; children, Scott (Jaclynn) Mortimer of Marengo, Melissa Mortimer of Appleton, Wis., and Lawrence (Carole) Mortimer of Woodstock, Ill.; grandchildren, J. Mortimer, Addison Mortimer, and Carmela Mortimer; siblings, Jerry Mortimer, Rod (Krista) Mortimer, and Lisa (Tony) Sigo; many nieces, nephews; and other family and many friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Ken (Isabel) Mortimer.

Funeral services were held Dec. 18 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Eagle River. There will be a Celebration of Life in the summer. Details will be announced at a later date.
