Larry T. McCaughn of Sayner died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, at his home with his family by his side. He was 68. 

Mr. McCaughn was born Jan. 22, 1951, in Tomahawk to Robert and Gladys (née Olson) McCaughn. 

He graduated from Lakeland Union High School in 1969. 

He married Kathy Worthen Oct. 2, 1982.

Mr. McCaughn worked at the Highway G Landfill as a heavy equipment operator and was the former fire chief for the Plum Lake Volunteer Fire Department. 

He was also an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed traveling, and especially loved telling hunting and fishing stories.

Mr. McCaughn was preceded in death by one son, Scott; his parents; two brothers, Wayne, and Teddy; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne and Jeri Worthen.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; two sons, Wayne, and Barry; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nephews. 

A memorial service was held Sept. 2 at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Wood­ruff.
