Louis “Louie” Hall Jr., a resident of Watersmeet, Mich., died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, at his home. He was 76.  

Mr. Hall was born Sept. 5, 1943, in Chicago, Ill., to Louis and Charlotte Hall. 

He spent his high school summers in Eagle River working at the family’s supper club and resort, the Char Lou.

Mr. Hall moved to the area to operate the Char Lou year-round, which he owned and operated until it was sold in the late 1970s.  

He then relocated his family to Florida, but spent the summer months at his home in Watersmeet until he semi-retired in 2009 and became a permanent resident.

He was a craftsman and worked as a mason for many years in Wisconsin and Florida.

Mr. Hall enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading.  

He worked at and was a member of the Gateway Gun Club. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and Ducks Unlimited.

Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife, Mona; and his parents.  

He is survived by his significant other, Madeleine Donnelly of Mequon; four children, Louis (Gretchen) Hall III of Watersmeet, Tammy Hall of Fort Myers, Fla., Steve (Jill) Perea of Delray Beach, Fla., and John Hall of Tallahassee, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

The family is planning a celebration of life at the end of January.
