Margaret G. “Margie” Zell­mer, 71, of Conover, Wis., formerly of rural McNabb, Ill., passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Ill.

Margie was born Oct. 21, 1948, in Spring Valley, Ill., to Paul and Millie (Tomlinson) Wiertz. She married Steve Zellmer June 29, 1966, at Immanual Lutheran Church, County Line Road, Peru, Ill.

Margie was a homemaker and co-owned Double Z Trucking with her husband, Steve, and was a Mary Kay consultant from 1974 until her passing.

She lived in rural McNabb, where she and Steve ran their business and raised their children. She moved to Conover, Wis., in 2005.

Margie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Red Hat Society and enjoyed her Scrabble Club in Wisconsin.

Margie is survived by her daughter, Valorie (Larry) Smith of Magnolia, Ill.; two sons, Jeffrey (Nicole) Zellmer of McNabb, and Clayton (Cara) Zellmer of Hennepin, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Logan Smith, Forrest Smith, Madison Zellmer, Trevor Zellmer, Paxton Zellmer, Trent Fonderolli, Paige Zellmer and Reise Zell­mer; three sisters, Betty Wirsig of Clarkston, Wash., Maibelle Driver of Dixon, Ill., and Roberta Drane of Washington, Ill.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Steven, in 2004; and one brother, Norman Wiertz.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at Immanual Lutheran Church. Pastor Dan Stalker officiated.  Burial will be in Friends Cemetery in Mc­Nabb.

Pallbearers were Jeffrey Zellmer, Clayton Zellmer, Logan Smith, Forrest Smith, Trevor Zellmer and Trent Fonderolli.

Helmer-Shields Funeral Home in Granville, Ill., is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family.
