Matthew J. Cira of Sugar Camp died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, at Eagle River Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was 62.

He was born Sept. 27, 1959.

He was a graduate of Three Lakes High School and attended Stevens Point University where he made the deans list all four years.

Mr. Cira was a sports fan and coached youth soccer. He enjoyed politics, puzzles, word games, math, fishing, and was an excellent cribbage player. He enjoyed all musical genres, especially Pink Floyd.

He was a carpenter by trade and also a supervisor at Menards.

Mr. Cira is survived by his partner of 30 years, Karen Gast; four brothers, Steven, Kurt, Chris and Carl; one sister, Sally Cira Peters; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River is serving the family.
