Orville “Jim” Gleisner, a longtime resident of Eagle River, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Seasons of Life. He was 82. 

He was born June 28, 1937, to Harold and Grace Gleisner.

Mr. Gleisner was in the U.S. National Guard during the Berlin Crisis. 

He retired from Northland Pines School District where he was a custodian. 

He enjoyed gardening, cooking and building birdhouses.

Mr. Gleisner was preceded in death by one stepson, Matthew; and one sister, Audrey Grafwallner. 

He is survived by his wife, Carolynn; four daughters, Lora (Kelly) LaVier of Midland, Mich., Kim (Andy) Wade of Greeley, Colo., and Mary (Wojciech) Wiatrowski of Kenosha, and Laura (Mark) Pieper of Green Bay; three sons, Graig (Katy) Barnum of Fargo, N.D., Michael Babula of De Pere, and Chris Babula of Virginia; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec 17, at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Eagle River. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
