Sandra K. Hervat (née Monteith), of Three Lakes, Wis., and Lakeland, Fla., passed away peacefully following a brief illness on July 10, 2019, at the age of 76.

Sandy was born on Nov. 10, 1942, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton, Wis., to parents, Wm. Raymond and Evelyn (née Kreiss) Monteith.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Joel; their three sons, Brett (Cheryl) Hervat of Houston, Texas, Brian Eich of Milwaukee, Wis., and Scott Hervat of Eagle River, Wis.; a sister, Susan M. Wells of Park Ridge, Ill., and Bonita Springs, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Hannah, Jason and Craig Hervat of Houston, Texas, who will miss Nana dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sandy worked nearly 20 years as an office administrator for Peterbilt of Wisconsin in Madison.

In 2000, she and Joel began splitting time between Three Lakes and Lakeland, as unapologetic snowbirds. But Sandy never fully retired. She continued to work more than 15 years as a member of the pro shop and clubhouse staffs at two of her favorite places, the Eagle River and Schalamar Creek golf courses, where she was known by everyone for her outgoing, friendly and down-to-earth personality, as well as her extensive collection of festive knee-high socks.

Sandy enjoyed golf and was an avid sports fan her entire life, cheering proudly and loudly for the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and her beloved Wisconsin Badgers.

She enjoyed helping others and volunteering for a variety of community and charitable causes, including her many years as a co-organizer of the Eagle River Golf Course’s “Rally for a Cure” benefiting the Marshfield Clinic Breast Cancer Research Fund.

Above all, Sandy loved spending time with family and her many dear friends. She was a true people person who always put others before herself.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Immediately following the service is a reception at The Tavern on the Loop, 1451 North Big Lake Loop, Three Lakes, for friends and family to celebrate Sandy’s life and memory. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite Wisconsin Badgers attire or something red or white.
