Sean Holtslander of Eagle River and formerly of Janes­ville, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, in Sugar Camp. He was 23.

He was born Aug. 22, 1996, in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., to Ernest and Dorothy Holtslander.

Mr. Holtslander was a graduate of Craig High School in Janesville and was on the debate team. 

He attended Black Hawk Community College where he studied Criminal Justice. 

Mr. Holtslander loved to draw and was a talented artist and songwriter, and also played guitar and other instruments. He was working on writing a science fiction book and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Mr. Holtslander was preceded in death by his father. 

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy, of Eagle River; grandmother, Elsie Holtslander of Charleston, S.C.; six siblings, Sam Dunham, Joette (Andy) Frain of Chicago, Ill., Kelly (Kirk) Marquiz of New Orleans, La., Lisa Holtslander of Raleigh, N.C., Michael Holtslander of Summerville, S.C., Ernie Holtslander Jr. of Columbia, S.C., and Sara Cooper of Madison; one aunt, Mary Brock of Medina, Ohio; one uncle, Harold Brock of Medina, Ohio; many nieces; and two nephews.

Memorial services were held Sept. 3 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Eagle River.
