Tim Allison of Eagle River, Wis., passed away the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, from a heart attack in the midst of an activity that gave him great joy, snowmobiling. Tim was just 45 years old.

Tim was born in November of 1975 in Woodruff, Wis. He grew up in Clearwater Lake, Wis., and joined the Marine Corps in 1994, after graduating from Three Lakes High School.

He married Tonya shortly after joining and was stationed with his family in several places across the country. During his time in the Marine Corps he deployed to many places around the world and, after 22 years, retired as a MSgt in 2016.

Tim moved his family back up north in 2016 after his retirement to purchase a family business. He quickly expanded it and worked tirelessly making it a success. Tim’s wife and the staff of Canvas Products of Eagle River will miss Tim’s passion and his daily humor, but will continue the legacy he was building.

Tim was full of laughter, generosity, compassion and hard work. If you ever asked Tim, the most important accomplishment of his life are his children, Michael (21) and Grace (19 in March).

He worked hard but found as much time as possible to get out on his snowmobile, his UTV and on the lakes in the summer, and every moment he found to play was well deserved. But for Tim it was always about the time together, the laughter shared and the memories made. Anyone who spent five minutes with Tim could call him a friend, and anyone who called him a friend always knew he would be there for them.

Tim was a loving husband, father, family member and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Tonya Allison; his children, Michael Allison and Grace Allison; and his grandparents, Dale and Carol Klemp.

Tim treasured his family and friends above all. His uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and his countless friends, both in the local community and around the world, will miss him regularly reaching out, bringing laughter with him every time and everywhere he went.

The memorial will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Eagle River Inn led by the pastor who married Tim and Tonya. Following the memorial there will be a Celebration of Tim’s Life across the hall. All are welcome to drop by or stay awhile — just the way Tim would like it.
