Weston “Walleye Wes” Zilis, age 79, a resident of Land O’ Lakes, Wis., since 1994, and formerly of Chicago, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at his home.

Wes was born on Jan. 19, 1939, in Chicago, Ill., to Jack and Kathleen Zilis.

He worked for Anheuser-Busch in Chicago for 47 years as a beer delivery driver. After moving to Land O’ Lakes, he worked at the garbage dump for 10 years.

He was an avid fisherman and was also a guide. He enjoyed riding his ATV and was a member of the ATV Club in Land O’ Lakes.

Wes served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Zilis; his parents; twin brother, Warren Zilis; brother-in-law, Fred Bishton; mother-in-law, Jewel Bishton; and father-in-law, Walt Bishton.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen (Matt) Huebner of Land O’ Lakes; grandson, Avery Weston Huebner of Land O’ Lakes; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bishton of Harvey, Ill.; niece, Edie Wendt; nephews, Ted (Jan) Bishton and Ed (Paula) Bishton; great-nieces, Briell and Kayla; and great-nephews, Joe and Eric.

A celebration of life for Wes will be held at a later date.
