William G. Davies, age 74, of Columbus, Wis., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, at Randolph Health Services in Randolph, Wis. 

He was born on March 22, 1945, in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late William and Ella (Mustonen) Davies.

William attended the Phelps School, graduating with the Class of 1963.

He was an engineer in the U.S. Army building bridges and earned a Marksmanship in Rifle badge.   

After his honorable discharge, William farmed with his parents until his retirement.

He was a member of the American Legion and VFW Stateline Post 8400 of Land O’ Lakes, Wis.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking his dogs.  

William is survived by his sister, Bette (Mark) Graper of Columbus, Wis.; aunts, Joyce Davies and family of Iron River, Mich., and Marge Wykoski of Eagle River, Wis., and sons of Three Lakes, Wis.; uncle, Nick DeMers of Land O’ Lakes, and his son; and several cousins.   

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.  A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. with Deacon Robert Kostka. 

Interment will be in Phelps Cemetery, Phelps, Wis., with the veterans to accord Military Rites at the graveside.
