Dear Editor:

In her “Letter to the Editor” April 17 Linda Herscher (Citizens’ Climate Lobby) asked readers what they thought the Sunrise Movement, Zero Hour and Youth Climate Strike have in common.

Ms. Herscher informed readers that “They are all youth-powered movements focused on the climate crisis that threatens their futures. Their leaders are as young as 14 and all recognize the magnitude of the crisis that is undermining their futures and they aren’t taking it sitting down.”

However, this recent narrative being advanced by the climate alarmist industry is no different than the one orchestrated by veteran activists who used surviving students of the Stoneman Douglas High School massacre in Parkland, Fla., as pawns in the “student-driven” March For Our Lives protests to further their gun-control agenda.

At the time, I wrote a letter to this paper in which I noted that the student demonstrations actually were driven by the online organizing platform of Action Network, which partners with hundreds of socialist, communist and progressive activist organizations to “provide strategic support to help them win their campaigns,” per public disclosure.

It should come as no surprise that the three so-called youth movements are partnered with Action Network for their priceless organizational system and interconnections with philanthropic foundations having a long history of supporting left-wing agendas.

It also should come as no surprise that the Sunrise Movement worked in concert with the face and puppet of the radical wing of the Democratic Party, the socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, to launch the Green New Deal, which centers around reversing modern-day lifestyles and conveniences in a doomsday approach to battle man-made global warming; a theory that remains unproven.

And that brings us to the validity of man-made global warming itself.

According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the global average temperature has increased 1.4 degrees since 1880, when recording began.

Common sense tells us that because 1880 is the approximate end of the “Little Ice Age,” temperatures would bounce back from the 1 to 2 degree loss, which occurred during that natural cooling cycle.

According to climate activists, 1950 is the universally-recognized baseline in which the rapid acceleration of global development and its accompanying increase in fossil fuel carbon emissions is responsible for the alarming rate of warming to date and inevitable apocalyptic outcome 12 years from now.

Except NASA noted that two-thirds of the aforementioned 1.4-degree temperature increase occurred since 1950, nine-tenths of one degree after 1950 and five-tenths prior.

The truth of those numbers is that the two vastly different time periods of carbon output, which warming activists hang their hats on, has resulted in a mere less than half a degree, four-tenths, temperature rise.

And even more eye-opening is this 0.4 temperature rise occurred from 1950-’98, since there has been no warming outside the margin of uncertainty after 1998, despite carbon emissions throughout the last two decades.

Unsurprisingly, NASA warned of a global cooling onset which could be more severe than the Little Ice Age due to extreme low sunspot counts.

Martin Mlynczak of NASA’s Langley Research Center explained “We see a cooling trend high above Earth’s surface, near the edge of space, our atmosphere is losing heat energy. If current trends continue, it could soon set a Space Age record for cold. The thermosphere always cools off during solar minimum. It’s one of the most important ways the solar cycle affects our planet.”

Thank God for fossil fuels.
