Headwaters Chapter of Muskies Inc. will host its 42nd annual awards banquet and fundraiser Saturday, April 18, at Whitetail Inn in St. Germain.

A social hour will start at 5 p.m., and dinner will be at 6 p.m. Awards, raffles and auctions will follow the dinner. 

The banquet will be open to the public and only 200 tickets will be sold, according to chapter President Bill Jacobs.

“You do not have to be a member of Muskies Inc. to attend,” said Jacobs. “Everyone will be eligible for the many door prizes.”

The cost for the banquet is $30 for adults and $15 for youths age 18 and younger. Each youth will get a prize.

Dinner will be a choice of half-rack of barbecue ribs, cornish hen with wild rice stuffing or Parmesan-baked cod. All meals include potato, salad and dessert.

Raffle prizes at the banquet will include a chance to win a stay at a Canadian resort, including Pine Beach Resort on Eagle Lake or Red Wing Lodge on Lake of the Woods. Another prize is a stay at Spring Bay Resort on Vermillion Lake in Cook, Minn.

Adams said the chapter has a couple of special promotions for the banquet this year.

“Bring a new adult guest to the banquet who has not attended in the past year and each of you will get $20 worth of free raffle tickets that can be used on any raffle,” said Jacobs.

The chapter is also having a food pantry raffle.

“For each nonperishable food item you bring to the banquet, you get one raffle ticket,” said Jacobs. “The winner of that raffle gets $100 worth of raffle tickets for our other prize raffles. Food items go to our local food pantry.”

Banquet guests can also purchase $150 worth of raffle tickets for $100. There also is an early bird raffle for $5 a ticket if purchased by April 13. The winner will get $200 worth of raffle tickets.

The Headwaters chapter uses the funds for muskie stocking, boat landing projects and youth events  in Vilas and Oneida counties.
