The Sayner-Star Lake Lions Club has announced the 17th annual Plum Lake Ice Fishing Tournament will be this Saturday, Feb. 9, on Plum Lake from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cash prizes will be awarded for first- through fifth-place fish in the walleye and northern pike divisions, while bluegill, perch and crappie divisions will pay cash prizes for first through third places.

There is a separate children’s division for children 12 years old and younger for which prizes will be awarded to each child, regardless of whether they catch a fish.

Tickets for adults are priced at $25, with children’s tickets priced at $10. If parents want their children to be eligible to win any of the 10 major door prizes or other door prizes awarded in the adult division, they may purchase adult tickets for their children, as well as a children’s ticket.

All winning fish will be determined by length, with ties broken by the order in which the fish were registered.

Among the major raffle and door prizes to be given away are four gas Jiffy augers, one Jiffy propane-powered auger, a Vexilar fish locater, two Yeti coolers, a Green Mountain Daniel Boone pellet grill, a freezer filled with meat and other frozen foods, three jumbo Jet sleds and a Shappell 4500 portable ice shack.

Tickets for the event are available at Up North Traders, Sayner Pub and Sayner Mobil in Sayner, at Murmuring Waters Lodge on Lost Lake in St. Germain and at 70 West Body Shop in Eagle River.
