Northwoods Trout Unlimited (TU) will hold its 44th annual Conservation Banquet on Saturday, April 20, at the Quality Inn Conference Center, 668 W. Kemp St., in Rhinelander.

Social hour will be at 5 p.m. and a catered dinner will start at 6 p.m. The cost is $45 per person. No tickets will be available at the door.

The banquet will include raffles for approximately 30 prizes, as well as awards for conservation champions in the area. The buffet-style dinner will include a choice of tenderloin tips with beef gravy or chicken breast with lemon dill sauce.

Northwoods TU is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), cold water conservation group serving Vilas, Oneida, Forest and Florence counties.

Proceeds from the event will go toward funding cold water conservation projects, youth education, and related community outreach in the four-county area. The organization also contributes to funding initiatives in Wisconsin TU’s Northeast Region and for TU’s State Council.

In addition to the banquet, this year Northwoods TU will be having a grand prize raffle. First prize is a single-person Maxxon Pontoon raft with electric trollĀing motor; second prize is a complete four-weight fly fishing outfit; and third prize is a $200 gift certificate for Mel’s Trading Post. The grand prize raffle drawing will be on Labor Day, Sept. 2, at noon at Mel’s Trading Post in Rhinelander. Winners need not be present to win.
