Irene McIntyre-VanBussum, a resident of Eagle River for most of her life, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at Avanti Health & Rehabilitation Center in Minocqua. She was 110.
Mrs. McIntyre-VanBussum was born May 21, 1908, in Marquette, Mich., to Octave and Mary Hebert.
She was a dental assistant for Dr. Guth in Eagle River.
Mrs. McIntyre-VanBussum was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth McIntyre, and second husband, Lawrence “Punk” Van Bussum.
She is survived by one son, Rick (Carol) McIntyre of Eagle River; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A private memorial service was held.
Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River is serving the family.

As a young girl in Eagle River in the 1930's, every time I saw Irene walking down the street, I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Tall, straight, beautiful black hair tied up in the back. I can close my eyes and still see her. What a nice memory.

WORKED WITH IRENE...OLD A AND P STORE ..BACK IN 1952 OR SO. ALWAYS ENJOYED HER SENSE OF HUMOR. WILL MISS HER GREATLY. 110...WOW.
