Vilas County Sheriff

Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week reported at least 20 911 hang-ups, five car vs. deer accidents, three hit-and-run traffic accidents, one vehicle accident with personal injury, nine nonreportable traffic accidents, 12 vehicle accidents with property damage, one request to assist another agency, 14 burglar alarms, six fire alarms, five ambulance requests, one animal neglect or cruelty offense, two animal problems, two attempts to locate, 13 requests to assist citizens, one criminal damage to property offense, one death investigation, four disturbances, two domestic violence complaints, one drug problem, one fireworks complaint, one found property report, one fraud complaint, two drive-offs, one juvenile problem, two lost property reports, one lost or missing person, one drug overdose, three probation violations, two requests for officer assistance, four snowmobile accidents, two snowmobile violations, one suicide attempt, one snowmobile operating while intoxicated offense, four reports of suspicious circumstances, one theft, three reports of hazardous conditions, three traffic violations, one utility problem and nine welfare checks.

There were at least 59 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least 16 people were booked at Vilas County Jail, including one to hold on warrant for another agency, one for operating after suspension, one for operating while intoxicated-second offense, one for tampering or failure to install ignition interlock device, two for battery, one for resisting or obstructing an officer, one for felony bail jumping, four for disorderly conduct, three for domestic violence and one for probation violation.

Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were 23 calls for the Eagle River Police Department. These in¬≠cluded one alarm, one request to assist another agency, one child abuse or neglect offense, three requests to assist citizens, one disorderly conduct complaint, one driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs offense, one false alarm, one failure to appear complaint, one probation violation, one report of suspicious circumstances, one traffic accident with property damage, one traffic hazard report, one threats complaint, one utility problem, one vandalism offense and three welfare checks. 

Two persons were taken into custody and booked into Vilas County Jail.

Three Lakes Police

The Three Lakes Police Department re­ported two 911 hang-ups, one abandoned vehicle, one alarm, three ambulance requests, one animal cruelty offense, four requests to assist motorists, two requests to assist another agency, seven business checks, two requests for extra patrol, one drive-off, one gunshots complaint, one welfare check, one ID?fraud offense, one illegal dumping problem, one juvenile problem, two reports of found property, one sexual assault, six snowmobile violations, one report of suspicious circumstances, four traffic stops, one trespassing offense and three vehicles in the ditch.
