Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week reported at least 17 911 hang-ups, one car vs. deer accident, 11 nonreportable traffic accidents, eight vehicle accidents with property damage, three requests to assist another agency, nine burglar alarms, six ambulance requests, three dog bites, one animal problem, one burglary, 11 requests to assist citizens, one death investigation, three requests to deliver messages, one disorderly conduct complaint, three disturbances, five drug problems, one election law violation, one emergency detention, one vehicle fire, one report of found property, one drive-off, one restraining violation, one request for investigative assistance, three juvenile problems, one littering problem, one lost property report, two parking problems, two protection order entries, five probation violations, one vacation check, one repossession, two requests for officer assistance, one report of smoke in area, four snowmobile accidents, four snowmobile violations, one request to remove subject, four suicide attempts, four reports of suspicious circumstances, three threats complaints, 24 reports of hazardous conditions, five traffic violations, one utility problem, one wanted person and seven welfare checks.

There were at least 49 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least 18 people were booked at Vilas County Jail, including one to hold on warrant for another agency, one for operating without a valid license, one for operating while intoxicated-third offense, one for failure to report to jail, one for misdemeanor bail jumping, one for felony bail jumping, two for possession of marijuana, one for maintaining a drug trafficking place, two for possession of marijuana-second offense with felony enhancer, four for possession of drug paraphernalia and three for probation violation.



Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were 37 calls for the Eagle River Police Department. These in­cluded three ambulance requests, two animal problems, two requests to assist another agency, one citizen dispute, three requests to assist citizens, one lost or found property report, one parking problem, one probation violation, one nonreportable traffic accident, two traffic accidents with property damage, six traffic hazards, one threats complaint, two thefts, one utility problem and two welfare checks. Two persons were taken into custody and booked into Vilas County Jail.
