Vilas County Sheriff’s dispatchers last week reported at least 11 911 hangups, six car vs. deer accidents, one hit-and-run traffic accident, two accident with injuries, one nonreportable traffic accident, one accident with damage, four requests for agency assistance, six burglar alarms, one fire alarm, two ambulance requests, five animal problems, three attempts to locate, one ATV complaint, one child abuse, eight requests to assist citizen, one criminal damage to property, one custodial interference, one dead body, four disturbances, two domestic violence complaints, one drug problem, one found property, one fraud, one gas drive-off, two harassments, one illegal dumping, two intoxicated persons, one problem in the jail, three juvenile problems, two Lifeline alarms, one littering, two reports of lost property, one missing person, three noise complaints, two reports of operating while intoxicated (OWI), two vacation checks, one request for officer assist, one sexual assault, four reports of suspicious circumstances, one identity theft, one vehicle theft, 11 reports of hazardous conditions, five traffic violations, four trespasses and five welfare checks.

There were at least 29 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, one or more persons were booked at Vilas County Jail for the following offenses: operating after revocation; OWI; tampering; battery; resisting or obstructing an officer; bail jumping; and probation violation.



Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 26 calls for the Eagle River Police. These included one abandoned vehicle, two requests for agency assist, one animal problem, four citizen disputes, two communication offenses, one disorderly conduct, one domestic violence offense, one false alarm, one obstrucing justice, one probation or parole violation, four traffic accidents with property damage, one traffic hazard, two traffic offenses, one unsecure premises, one vandalism and two welfare checks.

Four people were taken into custody and booked into Vilas County Jail.



Three Lakes Police


The Three Lakes Police Department reported at least one 911 hang up, two accidents, one alarm, one ambulance request, one animal problem, one burglary, 50 business checks, one fire, one welfare check, two thefts, one noise complaint, one reckless driving, one scam, one sexual assault, two traffic stops and one vandalism.
