A 32-year-old Eagle River woman had not guilty pleas entered for 17 charges Sept. 15 by a Vilas County Circuit Court judge because she stood mute in court.

Danielle K.E. Hitter is facing 11 felony bail jumping counts, one felony count of fifth- or sixth-offense of operating while intoxicated, and felony taking and driving a vehicle without consent. Misdemeanors included resisting or obstructing an officer, two counts of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. The court record stated that Hitter stood mute in court, so the court entered not guilty pleas on all charges.

Pretrial is scheduled Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. The charges are related to alleged incidents on July 10, Aug. 3 and Dec. 3, 2021.

Jeffery J. Bauman Jr., 27, of Lac du Flambeau, pleaded not guilty to nine felonies and two misdemeanors, in three separate cases. The charges include six bail-jumping counts; one felony count of possession with intent to distribute, 10-50g, heroin; one felony count of knowingly trafficking food stamps ($100-$5,000); one felony count of possession with intent to deliver/distribute, less than or equal to 10g of, fentanyl; possession of drug paraphernalia; and possession of a controlled substance.

The court found probable cause, bound Bauman over for arraignment on information and bond was continued. Judicial pretrial is set Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. The charges are related to alleged incidents July 1 and Nov. 23, 2021, and March 27.

Michael R. Johnson, 23, of Lac du Flambeau, pleaded not guilty at a preliminary hearing Sept. 14 on two felony charges that included battery or threat to a judge, prosecutor or officer and bail jumping. The court found probable cause, bound Johnson over for arraignment on information and bond was continued. Judicial pretrial is scheduled Sept. 28 at 11:30 a.m. The charge is related to an alleged incident Sept. 5.

Cory H. Wayman, 29, of Lac du Flambeau, pleaded not guilty Sept. 12 to three felony charges that include manufacture/deliver, less than or equal to 3g of, heroin and amphetamine. Bond was continued and a preliminary hearing is scheduled Sept. 19 at 3:15 p.m. The charges are related to alleged incidents April 15 and 28.

Samuel P. Gussert, 28, of Crystal Falls, Mich., pleaded not guilty at a preliminary hearing Sept. 12 related to a felony charge of vehicle operator fleeing or eluding an officer. The court found probable cause, bound Gussert over for arraignment on information and bond was continued. Judicial pretrial is set Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. The charge is related to an alleged incident March 25.

Devin M. Prott, 24, of Crystal Falls, Mich., appeared for a preliminary hearing Sept. 15 on a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute or deliver, less than or equal to 3g, amphetamine, methamphetamine, etc. The court found probable cause, bound Prott over for arraignment on information and bond was continued. Arraignment is scheduled Oct. 10 at 2:30 p.m. The charge is related to an alleged incident Jan. 11, 2021.

Frank Young, 44, of Watersmeet Mich., pleaded not guilty at a preliminary hearing Sept. 14 to two felony charges of battery or threat to a judge, prosecutor or officer and bodily harm or threat to a health care provider or family. The court found probable cause, bound Young over for arraignment on information and bond was continued. Judicial pretrial is set Nov. 15 at 9:45 a.m. The charge is related to an alleged incident June 25.
