The spring sports season got underway last week with the first day of boys and girls track and field practice at Northland Pines and Three Lakes High School.

Programs from the respective schools, including Phelps who will again combine teams with Three Lakes, will get into competition this week. Pines is set to host the first of what could be many indoor meets this season, Thursday, March 14.

Teams taking part in the preseason meet Thursday include host Pines, Three Lakes-Phelps, Rib Lake, Chequamegon, Laona-Wabeno, Phillips and Wittenberg-Birnamwood.

Meet time is set for 4:30 p.m. in the Northland Pines Field House.

Following Thursday’s meet the Northland Pines squad will head to Ashland Tuesday, March 19, before returning home to host their second meet of the season, Thursday, March 21.

Three Lakes-Phelps will take part in that meet prior to heading to UW-Stevens?Point the final Friday of the month for a large indoor meet.
