SpineCore Foundation and Adaptive Adventures will hold a four-person golf scramble fundraiser Saturday, July 20, at Big Stone Golf Course in Three Lakes. Registration will begin at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

A reception will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. with a silent auction followed by raffles and dinner at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $70 per golfer or $280 per team and includes nine holes of golf with a cart, dinner, and hole and door prizes. Additional dinner tickets are available for just $15. Any guest is invited to take part in the raffles and silent auctions.

All proceeds from the event will go to support the SpineCore Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded in northern Wisconsin by Anthony Regole who lost the use of his legs following a car accident in January 2007.

Paralyzed from the waist down, Regole pledged to himself to not let the situation that had been handed to him stop him from being active and living his life to the fullest.

He began adapting his outdoors and athletic style of living and 10 years later, created his own nonprofit dedicated to inspiring individuals and providing opportunities for people with physical disabilities through outdoor adaptive sports.

“Our mission is to help the participants concentrate on their abilities versus their disabilities, exceed expectations and help them adapt to various situations and make dreams become a reality” he said.

The previous golf event helped support the SpineCore Foundation Adaptive Water Sports Camp held in Three Lakes, Aug. 20-22.

The event provided instruction in adaptive wakeboarding, waterskiing, guided fishing, kayaking and paddleboarding.

The foundation provided the cost of lodging, meals, instructors, boats, gas, adaptive equipment and more so that participants incurred little to no cost.
