The results of the April 6 election are in for St. Germain town treasurer and town board Supervisor 3 seat.

Incumbent Supervisor 3 Tim Clark lost to challenger Kalisa Nampel Mortag by only 10 votes, 276 to 266.

Mortag has been a resident of St. Germain for 17 years and lives with her husband, Sam, and their three children ages 10, 13 and 15.

She is the owner of a local public accounting firm and has assisted local businesses to make changes and keep their doors open throughout the last challenging year.

Mortag said that going forward as Supervisor 3, her decisions will not be based on personal preference but instead on what is right for the town and its residents.

Clark was elected to the board two years ago.

Meanwhile, incumbent town treasurer Marion Janssen decided not to seek re-election, and Jeanna Vogel beat out candidate Sharon Subel-Seegert for the position, 359 to 177.

Vogel grew up in St. Germain and was a graduate of Northland Pines High School and Ripon College.

She lived in several different states before returning to the North Woods to raise her family.

Vogel served as president and treasurer on the local Parent-Teacher Association board and has more than 20 years of experience as a business consultant.

Currently employed by IBM, working full-time telecommuting, she has experience in budgeting and financial tracking, invoicing, project management and data analysis.

Town Chairman Tom Christensen, Supervisor 4 Jim Swenson and Town Clerk June Vogel all ran unopposed for re-election.
