Due to the recent COVID-19 concerns, the St. Germain PrimeTimers board has decided to cancel all of the group’s events planned for April.

These include the April meeting, dartball, the Lac du Flambeau casino lunch buffet, and the Wausau shopping trip.

The board reminds those who need to make the next payment ?for the Frankenmuth trip to mail it to: St. Germain PrimeTimers, P.O. Box 281, St Germain, WI 54558. The envelope should be marked “Frankenmuth.”

In addition to the PrimeTimers, many other groups are also putting meetings on hold and canceling events. Some of these cancellations include:

— The ATV Club’s annual meat raffle at Sportsman’s Chalet;

— The Sayner-Star Lake Lioness Club’s meat raffle at Thunderbird; and

— The Women’s Service Club’s annual chicken barbecue fundraising event.

Ellyn Dahnke at the St. Germain United Church of Christ Thrift Shop announced that the board decided the store is an essential business and “will not close until cashier staff doesn’t come in or the state police come to shut them down.”

Meanwhile, the United Church of Christ has closed for at least two weeks. The St. Germain Evangelical Free Church as well as Shepherd of the Lakes Church in Sayner also closed for an indefinite period of time.

The St. Germain Fire Department’s most recent training was canceled with no word on how many more will not take place.
