The Sayner-St. Germain Fish and Wildlife Club will hold its Halloween program, “Bats,” presented by Licia Johnson on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. at the St. Germain Community Center.

As the education director/naturalist at the North Lakeland Discovery Center in Manitowish Waters, Johnson is responsible for the acoustic bat monitoring program, as well as the center’s outreach programs.

Attendees will learn how bats help the ecosystem as well as the danger posed by the fungal disease white-nose syndrome to the northern Wisconsin bat populations.

Those who attend are encouraged to come in costume for a chance to win a prize. Everyone is welcome.
