The 2021 WIAA Girls Basketball State Tournament will be held at two sites this Thursday, Feb. 25, through Saturday, Feb. 27, and will include the Three Lakes Bluejays in the Division 5 field. 

The games will be played at the La Crosse Center and at Menominee National Arena in Oshkosh. In recent years, the Girls Basketball State Tournament has been played at the Resch Center in Green Bay. 

This year’s tournament, due to the COVID-19 pandemic was split between the two locations to separate teams and spectators. Each team will get 500 tickets. In addition, each of the five divisions will have their semifinals and finals on the same day. 

In this area, all eyes are on the Division 5 field, which will feature the Three Lakes Bluejays, who walked through the Regional and Sectional levels.

The Division 5 field will play Thursday, Feb. 25 at the La Crosse Center. The first semifinal game will feature top-seeded Black Hawk (21-0) facing fourth-seeded Three Lakes (19-5) at 9:05 a.m. All divisions in the tournament were seeded following the Sectional. In the second Division 5 game, second-seeded McDonell Catholic (12-3) will play third-seeded Assumption (14-8) at 12:35 p.m. The championship game in Division 5 will be played Thursday night at 7:05 p.m.

The games during the Girls Basketball State Tournament will be televised live on WAOW Wausau and WYOW Eagle River. The games also will be streamed live on the State Television Network’s websites.

The Division 4 games will be Friday, Feb. 26, at the La Crosse Center. The semifinals will see No. 1 Mishicot (18-2) battling No. 4 Fall Creek (15-4) at 9:05 a.m. and No. 2 Bangor (18-2) at No. 3 Mineral Point (16-5) at 12:25 p.m. The title game will be at 6:35 p.m.

The Division 3 field will play Friday, Feb. 26, at Menominee Nation Arena. The semifinals will feature No. 1 Aquinas (21-0) against No. 4 Westfield (19-5) at 10:45 a.m. and No. 2 Lake Mills (23-2) facing No. 3 Howards Grove (24-1) at 2:10 p.m. The championship will be at 8:15 p.m.

The Division 2 games will be Saturday, Feb. 27, at the La Crosse Center. The semifinals will have No. 1 Notre Dame (26-1) playing No. 4 Onalaska (17-3) at 9:05 a.m. and No. 2 New Berlin Eisenhower (24-4) against No. 3 Reedsburg (19-1) at 12:25 p.m. The championship game will be at 6:35 p.m.

And the Division 1 field will play Saturday, Feb. 27, at Menominee Nation Arena. The semifinals will be No. 1 Germantown (27-1) against No. 4 Verona (8-4) at 10:45 a.m. and No. 2 Hudson (22-0) against No. 3 Franklin (15-5) at 2:10 p.m. the championship game will be at 8:15 p.m.
