The David Gerald Trio will bring its blues-infused rock and soul hybrid to Three Lakes Center for the Arts Saturday, Aug. 24, at 7:30 p.m.

Born in Mississippi and raised in Detroit, Mich., as the youngest of 11 children, David Gerald said he is working on his opportunity to live the American dream.

Gerald’s father moved the family north to escape segregation and discrimination, and that’s when Gerald said he began to “fulfill his destiny.” Influenced by Prince and 1980s rock guitarists, he has been captivating audiences across the country for more than a decade, playing impressive festivals, winning widespread awards and acclaim.
