ARBOR VITAE — The Cross Country Cruisers snowmobile club will hold its fifth annual Winterfest celebration and fundraiser Friday and Saturday, Jan 10-11, at the Cruisers clubhouse and barn located at 1501 Helminski Road, directly behind the Arbor Vitae Fire Department.

According to Cruisers president Dave Assmann, the annual fundraiser is the largest of the year for the group, and helps maintain more than 90 miles of trail along with four groomers and four drags.

Friday, the group will host a spaghetti and fish fry dinner serving from 4 to 9 p.m. Carry-outs are available. Drinks will also be available for purchase.

Saturday, events begin at 10 a.m. with WKSRA Kitty Kat Races. New this year will be closed-circuit television streaming of the races for heated indoor viewing.

Other events include a number of raffles throughout the day along with an antique snowmobile display, groomer rides, food, and hot and cold beverages for sale, as well as club apparel and clothing available for purchase.

The grand prize raffle drawing will take place at 4 p.m. at the clubhouse with the winner taking home $5,000. There will also be 14 other cash prizes disbursed.
