The Northwoods United Way will host a face mask packet giveaway Thursday, May 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. at four northern branches of Associated Bank.

The masks will be given out in quantities of 20, with one packet given to each car that comes to the distribution event until supplies run out.

“These face masks will give our populations another level of protection while shopping for essentials, getting fuel and going to appointments,” said Nancy Sattler, executive director of Northwoods United Way. “In addition, people that are heading back to work at their shops may want to pick up a packet for themselves or their employees.”

The masks are single-use masks and are intended to be properly discarded after use. A best practices sheet will be included with each packet of masks.

“We are pleased to be able to offer this to our community members. The face masks will be handed out by masked United Way volunteers and the drivers don’t even need to get out of their cars to get the packet,” Sattler added.

Funding for the mask giveaway is made possible by donations to the Northwoods United Way COVID-19 Community Response Fund. Masks will be available for pickup at Associated Bank branches in Crandon, Rhinelander, Eagle River and Minocqua.
