Area farmers markets have moved indoors for the season in the North Woods, but locally produced items are still available for purchase throughout the fall and winter.

The Eagle River indoor farmers market is held each Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Hillbilly Hollow Store, located at 708 East Wall St. The Rhinelander indoor market is held Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon at the YMCA of the Northwoods throughout the fall and winter.

“The community has been supporting the farmers market all summer and the indoor market gives them the opportunity to continue to buy locally grown and produced products,” said Marilyn Duschl of the YMCA.

Depending on weekly vendor attendance, products being sold may include chicken eggs, pork, root crops and/or mixed vegetables, pumpkins, apples, jams, jellies, salsa, sauces, relish and pickles, honey, homemade breads and cheese.

Some of the vendors that frequently sell at the markets include Hofrichter Farm, Hillbilly Hollow, Pleasants Best Sauces, Bell’s, Loon Call Garden and Burning Bush Maple Farms.
