The Walter E. Olson Memorial Library building in Eagle River remains closed to the public, but it was announced this week that interlibrary loan delivery has resumed.

Patrons can now request items from the entire Northern Waters Library Service System — 29 libraries total — for curbside pickup.

Requests can be placed using the online catalog and a request form available at olsonlibrary.org, or by contacting the library at (715) 513-6208 or olsonlibrary@gmail.com.

In addition to curbside pickup, access to the free Wi-Fi from outside the library continues to be available. When in the parking lot, patrons can look for the Olson Library network and connect. No password is needed.

Pat Lamon is now hosting online story time Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. In addition, the Northwoods Ukers are hosting jam sessions online Fridays at 1:30 p.m. For more information, contact the library.

The Afternoon Book Group will meet Thursday, July 9, at 1 p.m. to discuss “The Late Homecomer” by Kao Kalia Yang. The Fact and Fiction Book Group will meet Monday, July 13, at 1 p.m. to discuss “Flight of Dreams” by Ariel Lawhon.

The library’s website also continues to offer access to the Wisconsin Digital Library to view books, movies and audiobooks; BadgerLink Data¬≠base for special content not available from free search engines; and Gale Courses, which offer more than 350 free online courses. Gale Courses run for six weeks and new sessions begin every month.

Patrons also can self-register for a temporary library card online, as well as get the latest information on library updates, the COVID-19 pandemic and more.
