Saturday, June 25, at 7 p.m., The Landscape of Guitar will take the stage at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts (TLCFA).
Master guitarist Bruce Hecksel and vocalist and rhythm guitarist Julie Patchouli began their musical fusion in 2008.
The duo will blend Spanish and world guitar rhythms, melodies and harmonies with original compositions during the June 25 performance.
“How you get two guitars to sound like a 10-piece band is amazing,” said reviewer R.J. Lannan. “All this comes with a moving backdrop of Hecksel’s artwork, where everything is based on the shape of a guitar.”
Information on the band and musicians can be found at patchouli.net.
Tickets for this event are $25 and $10 for 13 and younger.
Thursday, June 30, at 7:30 p.m. the band Scott Cook and the Second Chances will entertain audiences.
Cook has been called “truly one of Woody Guthrie’s children” and is an imaginative storyteller with a rare personal warmth, said event organizers.
With guitar, banjo, bass and beautifully written lyrics, Cook brings a disarming honesty and deep love of humanity to his songs and stories.
He performs throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand and has performed at over 800 venues and 150 festivals.
For more information about the band and Cook, visit scottcook.net.
Tickets for this event are $20 and $10 for 13 and younger.
Wine, beer and concessions will be available for purchase at both events.
All tickets can be reserved at tlcfa.org or purchased at the door. For more information, call (715) 546-2299.
