The annual Eagle River Recreation Association (ERRA) Youth Days Auction is set for this Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16-17, from 6 to 10 p.m. both nights.

ERRA officials said it’s more important than ever for the community to support the hockey organization.

The ERRA has raised approximately $190,000 toward a now tapered $700,000 project to put a new cooling system and concrete floor in the Sports Arena, known to many as “The Dome.”

This year’s activities will take place in the Cube only due to the construction project in the Dome. There will be a live auction, silent auction and wheel-and-deal corner.

Auction volunteers are picking up merchandise from area residents and businesses this week. There is a $25 donation to the ERRA for pick-ups.

Donations to the ERRA are tax-deductible.

“Because of the size limitations, we will be forced to deny many items that are normally accepted,” said Tony Brown of the ERRA board.

The ERRA will accept drop-off items for the auction through this Thursday, Aug. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Items accepted for the auction include cars, trucks, campers, motorcycles, ATVs and UTVs, tractors, airplanes, furniture, building supplies, lumber, toys, antiques, collectibles, hot tubs, swing sets, boat lifts, water toys, lawn mowers, chainsaws and tools.

The ERRA will not accept used mattresses, clothing, used TVs, computers, pianos, old or nonfunctioning refrigerators or freezers, and exercise equipment.

Pickups can be scheduled by contacting the arena at (715) 479-4858 or
