A bright sparkle in our life just went out.
Becky Ann Yielding of Eagle River, Wis., was born April 6, 1965, in Concord, Calif., to JoAnn and Gene Taylor. She passed away at home April 26, 2023.
Becky leaves behind her beloved husband, Ed Yielding whom she married on May 19, 1990. They were together just short of 40 years.
Becky and Ed grew up in Colorado and moved to Eagle River in 2000 after visiting several times with her father who grew up in Land O’ Lakes, Wis.
Besides Ed, Becky leaves behind her mother, JoAnn; brothers, Steve and Joe; aunts and uncles; and nieces and nephews, including Harmony, who spent several years in Eagle River.
Becky’s creative side showed in many areas, including inventing new escape room themes at her business Northwoods Escape Room which started in 2016. (The restroom has a sign proclaiming a 97% escape rate.) They added the Kicking Axes Up North axe-throwing business in 2018. She also enjoyed painting, making jewelry and stained glass, and many other crafts.
Her smile was always ready and sincere, making strangers feel welcome quickly.
Wine? Yes, please. Becky enjoyed weekend trips with girlfriends and socializing with friends and family. Becky enjoyed fishing and was especially effective while repeating her mantra of “here fishy-fishy, here fishy-fishy.” She rode, raced, and enjoyed ATVs. Becky and Ed often traveled the country in their RV to new riding areas.
Becky was a cat person. She and Ed were owned by nine cats in their Eagle River house over the years. They are with her now.
Becky was lucky on slot machines, charity drawings, and games – but ultimately not with cancer. She is missed and loved by many and will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Becky’s life will be held Aug. 26 in Eagle River.
