Paul Morse

Paul Thomas Morse, of Watersmeet, Mich. passed peacefully on Feb. 24, 2025, at Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich.

Paul shared 52 years of marriage with Terry Parker. Together, they built a loving family, including their son, Paul Morse; daughters, Michelle Mehlenbacher and Lisa Kania, and grandchildren, Reggie, Kania, and Alizari Gray; who lovingly stole his heart.
Paul’s early years were marked by a unique blend of talents. As a child model, he appeared in both print and television advertisements for well-known brands, including a memorable Band Aid commercial. His youthful charm even graced the cover of magazines such as Better Homes and Gardens.

He later attended the prestigious Benet Academy, a distinguished all-boys Catholic school in Lisle, Ill., where he excelled academically and athletically. His skills on the baseball field caught the attention of professional scouts, but Paul chose instead to serve his country by enlisting in the Air Force, where he served honorably, including one year in Vietnam.
After his service, Paul made Watersmeet his home. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Paul worked many places including at the White Pine Copper Mine, Toumey Nursery, Watersmeet Township, and finally the Watersmeet School. Paul also gave back to his community as a member of the Watersmeet Fire Department, where he rose to the role of Assistant Fire Chief, and as a proud member of the American Legion Post 417.
A tragic accident on Thanksgiving Day in 1993 left Paul paralyzed. Terry lovingly cared for him until 2015, when he became a resident of Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI. There, he found another family in the compassionate staff, who ensured his needs were met and brought him joy. He especially appreciated their help in enabling him to watch his beloved birds, especially hummingbirds. His family deeply appreciates the care and kindness he received right up until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bud" and Virginia Morse; siblings Bill, Robert, John, and Mary; his daughter Michelle; and many other cherished loved ones. His family finds comfort in the thought that he is now reunited with them.
Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River, MI, is handling his cremation. A graveside service with military honors at Watersmeet Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
Paul’s family and friends will forever remember his encouraging words, his kindness, and the strength he showed through life’s challenges. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.                      PAID OBITUARY
