Peter Wallner
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter A Wallner, on March 5, 2025, at the age of 90.
He was born on Nov. 25, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wis.
A proud veteran, Dad served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Toul, France, where his love for travel began.
Over the years, he explored much of Europe, the United States, and Canada. Dad was happiest with a map in hand and a car on the open road, finding joy in every detour and hidden gem along the way. He passed on his love of travel to his children and grandchildren, teaching them to embrace the world of travel and explore their roots.
Dad was married for 51 wonderful years to his beloved wife, Jean, who preceded him in death in 2009. Together, they raised a family and shared a life full of love and memories.
Quite the athlete in his youth, he Lettered in basketball, football, and track at West Milwaukee High School. Later, Dad developed a love of golf, a sport he and Jean adored, playing courses in Palm Springs and Scotland. But nothing brought Dad more joy than cheering from the sidelines at his kids' and grandkids' games. Whether it was a little league match, high school championship, or driving across the country for a college football game, he was the loudest and proudest supporter.
Dad’s career spanned 28 years with ABF Freight, starting in Milwaukee and taking the family to New York, Canada, Michigan, and California. After retiring, he settled in Three Lakes, Wis., where he enjoyed fishing on Thunder Lake, and planning trips to Scotland and Austria—two of his favorite destinations.
He is survived by his loving children, Bryan (Carolyn) Wallner, Neil (Denise) Wallner, and Dawn (Andy) Eig.
He was predeceased by his cherished daughter, Jill Ludloff. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Dani (Chris), Bryan, Lyla, Audrey, Peter, Alyssa, Oliver, Mason, and Lucy.
A service celebrating his life will be held this summer, at a time to be determined in Three Lakes.
