Sue (Jaaska) Boers
Sue Ellyn (Jaaska) Boers, 81 of Ontonagon, Mich., passed peacefully at home on Saturday, March 22, 2025, cared for by her eternally dedicated and loving husband. He was supported by wonderful caregivers from Regional Hospice Services "Sarah thank you!" and the wonderful team at Sunset Harbor Homecare.
Sue graduated from Phelps Wisconsin High School in 1961 and then attended Northland College in Ashland. She then went to UW Oshkosh where she completed her Bachelor of Library Science Degree. She managed libraries in Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac and then the Demmer Memorial Library of Three Lakes. This is where she met Ed, her beloved husband and eternal best friend. They were married on Nov. 11, 1988.
Ed and Sue moved to Arizona in 1992 where Sue became the Law Librarian for the Arizona Department of Corrections and retired from there in 2007.
She loved to celebrate her Finnish and Bohemian heritage as well as delight her guests with her culinary expertise focused on her Finnish culinary traditions with a bit of Southwest heat added for good measure. Ed and Sue had many wonderful adventures and loved to explore and enjoy each other's company. After Sue and Ed's retirement, they lived and traveled in their Motorcoach between Arizona and Ontonagon before permanently settling in Ontonagon in 2017.
Sue was preceded in death by her father Wayne and mother Mae Jaaska.
Sue is survived by her loving husband Edwin Boers; Stepchildren, Andrew and Tammi Boers (Chloe, Paxton), Jason & Jodi Boers, Aimee VanderMey (Chase, Vince).
