Nicolet College is offering a Start Your Own Business course beginning at the end of the month.
This hands-on, in-person course at Nicolet College will allow participants to build a complete business plan, craft a compelling pitch, and gain a mentor to guide them every step of the way.
Ellen Mathein described it as an eight-week, hands-on course designed for aspiring entrepreneurs, side-hustlers, and early-stage business owners who are ready to move from “I’ve always wanted to…” to “I’m doing it.”
“Participants don’t just learn concepts — they build something real,” she said.
By the end of the course, each learner walks away with a complete, launch-ready business plan, including financial projections; a polished pitch presentation they can use with lenders or investors; one-on-one mentorship from an experienced business professional; a clear startup roadmap and action plan; and practical tools such as SWOT and market analysis, branding work, and weekly business journaling
The class begins March 31 and runs weekly on Tuesdays through May 19. It’s held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Nicolet College Tamarack Center, Room 210.
Cost to enroll is $299. For more information, contact Mathein at 715-365-4915 or visit nicoletcollege.edu/workforce/professional-development-0.
