Benjamin “Bob” Corriveau

It is with great sorrow that we share that Benjamin “Bob” Corriveau, age 98, was taken from us on October 25, 2025. Bob was a long-time resident of Eagle River.

He was born in Redding, California on April 20, 1927, to late Leonard and Rose (Revell) Corriveau.

Bob married Marguerite Haskins, she preceded him in death on January 6, 2002.

He then married Helen Johnson, she preceded him in death on April 30, 2014.

Bob loved to hunt and fish! He was an amazing man with many talents. His claim to fame was being a world class woodcarver and earning the recognition of “World Champion Fish Carver, " which he was extremely proud of. Many ribbons were earned at carving shows, along with many “Best of Show” awards. He inspired and mentored many friends and family with his craft and made many life-long friends with his woodcarving talent.

A proud military veteran who was in the Army and stationed in Panama. He sent his salary back home to support the family.

There is so much more to his story that could fill a book!

Bob had a small bucket list that he was hoping to do before the end. The first one was to live to age 100, the second was a trip to Alaska to visit his former boss.

He will be deeply missed by his family and many long-term friends. He will be remembered for his vibrant spirit and his humor. All of his friends and family knew he was a very giving man. If you needed anything, anytime all that was needed was a simple ask.

Bob was proceeded in death by five brothers and five sisters, Les, Art, Blaine, Dick, Clara, Millie, June, Rosie, Barb and Baby Boy Corriveau.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to his many caretakers over the years (personal care, getting him to doctor appointments, and much more). Niece Mary (Rich and Lisa) who checked on him regularly, helped with his care and helped him care for his spouses. Nephew David who cared for him and spouses, and took him on many adventures. Niece Sue (Tom) who checked on him regularly, helped with his cares, fixing what needed to be fixed around his properties. Life-long friends (extended family) George and Mary who were always there for him for whatever and whenever he needed. Neighbor and friend, Scott (Kim) who kept on eye on him. Scott was welcomed in his home at any time and shared meals with him. Caretaker Arlaine who checked on him daily and visited him regularly to check on his cares, along with bringing him meals.
Doctors and nurses at the VA Clinic in Rhinelander, thank you for your compassionate care and genuine concern.

No funeral services were held. A Celebration of life will be held at a later time. If you would like to take part in the Celebration of Life, please send an email to RememberUncleBob@gmail.com.

If you are so inclined, the family kindly requests donations in his name be made to the Shriners in Eagle River.

“With tears of sorry we cry each day, in Angels’ arms you were carried away. Our memories of love and laughter will not fade, for inside our hearts you will always stay.”
