Bennett wins first at Eagle River this season in dominant fashion

The USRA late model feature Tuesday night in Eagle River had one leader, and that was hometown driver Dave Bennett, who led wire-to-wire in the 20-lap contest. It was the first win of the 2026 season at the track. 

Bennett raced out ot the lead from the drop of the green flag, and battled with second and third-place racers Jeff Thomas and Jason McFadden after a lap-seven caution, but was able to work through lapped traffic to cruise to victory. 

In other class action, Kory Joliff, of Mass City, Mich., followed Bennett’s ways and led all 20 laps in the B-Mod feature. He also had to fight off a late-race challenge from Dave Dishaw, who won the feature a few weeks back. In a caution-free race, Joliff was the fourth winner in four weeks of racing at the speedway this summer. 

Dustin White scored the stock car feature win after needing to do some work to get it done. Polesitter Trentin Bell looked like the early winner before White moved into second, and Bell was later charged with a caution, which put White into the lead. Rod Snellenberger then moved into second and switched positions with White over the balance of the race before White was first to the pay window. 

Father-daughter duo Jason and Hope Eisel battled each other for positioning for much of the street stock feature, as daughter Hope fought off her dad and multiple caution periods to claim her second feature win of the season. 

Tyler Pelofske nabbed his second 600 micro sprint feature this season. Addison Dishaw scored her second 300 micro sprint pro feature win of the year, while hometown driver Reed Joslin won the first feature flag of the year in the semi-pro 300 main. 

Racing resumes Tuesday, June 30, at 7 p.m. The track will host the first of two IMCA modified, Fast Shaft qualifying races. The 600 microsprints and the pure stocks are off. For more information, check out the track's Facebook page.
