The Brew’s Pub softball team got the best of its opponents at the 46th annual Phelps Recreational Association softball tournament at Wavering Park in Phelps. The team fought from the losers' bracket to win the tournament.
Ten different teams took to the softball diamond in hopes of claiming the first-place prize of over $1,000 and a team trophy. Sobeks Resort came into 2025 as the defending champions.
The top three finishing teams were Brew’s Pub, Rummy’s Busch Boys and Sobeks Resort.
Brew’s Pub ended up in the losers' bracket, but fought to Sunday’s championship game and took down the Busch Boys, who again found themselves in the top three in the tournament.
Sobeks Resort ended up with the third-place prize after being in the top spot a year ago.
While not official, the tournament organizers said early numbers indicate that roughly $6,500 was raised during the tournament, which will go towards the youth in Phelps.
