Dolores Schneider

Dolores Mae Schneider was called home by her Lord on November 11, 2025, at the age of 91.

She was born in the Town of How, Suring, WI to Hubert and Emma Scheer on May 7, 1934.

She graduated from Suring High School in 1952. Then worked for the L. Wieman Co. in Green Bay. Dolores married Arnold Schneider on Oct. 26, 1957, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Suring, WI.

Because of Arnie’s work, they made their home in Neenah, WI, where they raised their three children. Later, when the three children were all in school, she worked in the Tullar Elementary School Library for 20 years.

The family did a lot of camping and Dolores went on several fishing trips with her husband, which included going to Canada many times. They also enjoyed a trip of a lifetime to Switzerland.

After her husband’s retirement they moved to their property in Phelps, WI, where she continued to enjoy her gardening, flower beds, and rock gardens. Dolores did many kinds of needlework, her favorite being the crocheted baby blankets that say, “now I lay me down to sleep”. After all the joys she did have a pet peeve throughout her life, which was having her name misspelled.

Dolores is survived by her children, Jeffrey of Rhinelander, Susette (Steve) Crober of Larsen, and Bonnie (Robert) Zietlow of Neenah. Grandchildren Sarah Crober, Jennifer (Terri) Billington, Terry (Tanya) Crober, Bobbi (Jacob) Rieboldt, and Charles Zietlow; and four great-grandchildren. She is further survived by brother-in-law Ewald (Donna) Schneider, sisters-in-law Adele Hansen, Audrey Strehlow, and Elizabeth Schneider; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her husband Arnold, after 62 years of marriage. Also her parents, Arnold’s parents, her sister and brother-in-law Ruth (Harley) Buchholz, brother and sister-in-law Melvin and Eleanor Scheer, sister-in-law Ruth Schneider, brother-in-law Marvin and his wife Ruby Schneider, brothers-in-law Roger Schneider, Willard Hansen, Curtis Strehlow, and nephew Steve Schneider.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held on hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Camp Luther of Three Lakes, which she was always very fond of. We would like to encourage people to wear some form of purple as it was her very favorite of colors.

Arrangements by Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home, Eagle River. Online condolences may be expressed at gaffney-busha.com                  PAID OBITUARY
