Donna Mae Cogar of Sugar Camp died on Feb. 6, 2025, at Compassus and Friendly Village with her family by her side. She was 80.
Mrs. Cogar was born in Orange County, CA on Nov. 25, 1944, to the late Gilbert and Ruby June (Dollarhide) Shilts. They moved to Delavan, WI. She graduated from Delavan High School in 1962. 
Mrs. Cogar worked at the ice cream shop in Darien after graduation where she met her husband, Kenneth Cogar. They were married June 6,1964.
Mrs. Cogar and Kenneth moved to Sugar Camp in the late 70’s where they raised their family together.
Mrs. Cogar worked many years at Taylor Park before finishing out her working hands at Bonson’s Pick N’ Save where she retired after over 20 years.
Mrs. Cogar enjoyed her family, scratch offs, bingo, casino trips, bowling league, her daily survival of black coffee and watching her grandchildren play sports. She also enjoyed reading, crosswords, and all the extra sweets she knew she shouldn’t have, the Packers of course, and the Chiefs.
Mrs. Cogar was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Cogar; parents, Gilbert and Ruby Shilts; brothers, Leonard and Gil Shilts; sister, Carol Barett; brother in-law, Todd Gimmel; grandson, Logan Cogar.
She is survived by three children, Kris (Bill) Scheffler, Kevin (Sarah) Cogar and Steve Cogar; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great- grandchildren; she is also survived by four siblings, Debbie Gimmel, Dennis (Dawn) Shilts, Albert Shilts, Marlene Shilts; two sisters -in law; family friend Melanie as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  
A funeral service will be held Wednesday Feb. 12, 2025, 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI. Burial will be in Sugar Camp Memorial Cemetery.
