Parker DelaGarza, a 14-year-old Eagle River youth bowler, started the Wisconsin USBC 500/600 state tournament July 27 at Bowl-a-Vard Lanes in Madison by throwing a perfect 300 game, which led to a 696 series that won his division.
DelaRoza won $300 in scholarship money by taking the top spot in the boys singles 160-189 scratch division.
DelaGarza regularly bowls at Eagle Lanes in Eagle River and is also an Eagle Lanes Youth League member. Outside of DelaGarza, other youth bowlers who qualified for the event were Hailey Crow, Alan Edwards, Mason Nagy and Brandon Haagen.
