Racing at Eagle River Speedway picked up steam last night as Jason Eisel of Sugar Camp secured a $500 payday by winning the street stock feature. Similarly, Oconto Falls rider Kyle Frederick ended Rod Snellenberger’s consecutive win streak at six in the IMCA stock car feature and collected bounty money.
A $1,000 bounty was put out for Snellenberger for anyone who could beat the Pulaski rider at the Speedway, where he was a perfect six-of-six this season in the class.
The street stock class had 18 cars take the track for the feature, with 13 seeing the checkered flag. Eisel started in the pole position and jumped into the early lead. He ended up weaving through lapped traffic in the second half of racing action, with David Blackberg mounting a few moves for the lead but settling for second.
Frederick was the lone racer outside of Snellenberger who came from south of Eagle River and answered the bell as the bounty. He started in the pole position, while Snellenberger opened the race in fifth. By lap six of 20, he found his way to second behind the Oconto Falls driver. Frederick had a comfortable four-car length advantage before a caution flag flew on lap 13 that tightened the field. After the restart, Snellenberger couldn’t find a passing window and settled for second place.
Other feature winners on the night included Cade Nelson, of Hermantown, Minn., who started in eighth and led just the final lap to win the late model feature.
George Dalbeck secured first at the midway point of the B-mod feature and held that for the remainder of the 20-lap feature.
Tyler Pelofske, of Stacy, Minn., cruised to the 600 micro sprint feature, while Addison Dishaw and Archer Peter won the pro and semi-pro 300 micro sprint features.
All three races went caution-free from green to checkered.
