Gerald “Jerry” “Flatlander” Meusling
Gerald “Jerry” “Flatlander” Dean Meusling Sr., 85, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN on September 5, 2026.
Jerry was born August 8, 1941, in Fort Atkinson, WI, born to Alfred (Jane) Meusling where he grew up on a dairy farm,
He took his hard work ethic with him to Woodstock, IL, where he worked 47 years in the union as a Glazier / Ornamental Iron Worker Local 27 Chicago and Local 1204 / International Union. His trade included working on very large-scale jobs, such as Miller Park and Lambeau Field, to name a couple.
There he found his love of fast cars, racing side roads with friends, motorcycles, and eventually boats. Jerry was an avid fisherman—musky fishing was his passion, which brought him to the Northwoods where he met his wife. He was married to his wife, Brenda Kukanich Meusling, on April 14, 1987, in Rockton, IL.
He is survived by wife, Brenda Kukanich Meusling of Eagle River; his son “apple of his eye” Daniel, Eagle River; daughter, Michelle “sweet pea” Meusling; three grandsons Brandon, Michael, and Gabriel Meusling Day Machesney Park, IL; two great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Ann Long, Billings MT; brother, Greg.
A celebration of Jerry “Flatlander” life will be held October 24, 2026, at the VFW in Eagle River from 12-3 pm.
