In Loving Memory of Carolyn J. Schmidt
April 16, 1939 – September 24, 2026
Caroyln J. Schmidt, 87, of Eagle River, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love and with the comfort of knowing that Jesus was with her and that she was going to heaven.
Carolyn was born on April 16, 1939, in Clintonville, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Mabel Regenfuss. She graduated from high school in 1958 and was united in marriage to Harry W. Schmidt in 1959.
Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother who cherished her family deeply. She was known for her generosity, kind heart, and willingness to give to those she loved.
Carolyn owned and operated several stores in Eagle River and St. Germain, Wisconsin. She enjoyed watching movies, shopping, taking casino trips, and spending time with her loved ones.
Carolyn had a strong faith in God. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she looked forward to her eternal home with God.
Carolyn is survived by her former husband, Harry W. Schmidt; her son, David Schmidt, and his wife Crystal, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and her daughter Connie Justice, and her husband, David Justice, of Eagle River, Wisconsin. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Caroyln was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mabel Regenfuss; her twin sister, Marilyn Wilson; her brother, George Carter; her granddaughter Christina Justice and her two great-grandsons including Noah Justice.
Carolyn’s generous heart, unwavering faith, love for her family will be remembered and cherished by all who know her. Although she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of her Heavenly father.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday October 2, 2026, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 201 North 3rd St. in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. A luncheon will follow and the committal service will be at the Eagle River cemetery at 1:30 PM.
