Jolliff separates from field in B-Mod feature at Eagle River

Defending track champion Kory Joliff grabbed the lead at the drop of the green flag of the B-Mod feature last night at Eagle River Speedway and grew a lead by more than a full straightaway as he crossed the finish line to capture the checkered flag. 

It was his first win at the track this summer season. 

With the distance between first and second, it became a battle for the runner-up spot between Dave Dishaw, Dustin White and Charlie Hofffman, with Dishaw winning that battle. 

Other feature winners on a quiet and sunny night in Eagle River included Cade Nelson of Hermantown, Minn., who grabbed the win after he started 10th in the field and grabbed the lead after a late-race restart and sped by Zack Friske. 

Rod Snellenberger continued his dominance in the IMCA stock car class at the Speedway and won a close contest in the feature last night. The Pulaski driver fought off a late-race surge by Dustin White and came away with another victory, his 235th of his career.  

The street stock feature might have been the tightest of the night, with Sugar Camp’s Jason Eisel getting by David Blackberg on the final circuit and beating him to the pay window after a thrilling finish. 

Phillips Devin Fries survived pressure from Tomahawk’s Trevor Schumann as he collected the pure stock feature win. 

Tyler Pelofske cruised to a 600 micro sprint feature, while both 300 micro sprints were won by Addison Dishaw (pro) and Sheboygan’s Hudson Launer (semipro).

The Speedway is again hosting two events this week, with the Badger Midget Special back for the first time in decades this Saturday, Aug. 2. Also on the schedule is $1,200-to-win and $300-to-start USRA late model feature, along with 600 and 300 micro sprints and Dairyland Vintage and the Milwaukee Stock Car Association Vintage modifieds joining the fun. Racing starts at 6 p.m.
