Judith Esther Rozell

May 25, 1945 - February 17, 2025

We are saddened to share that Judy Rozell (née Spiess) took that great trip to heaven on Feb. 17, 2025. Judy left us due to natural causes with her children and husband by her side.
Daughter of Charlie and Ruth Spiess, Judy was raised in Eagle River and spent most of her life in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. She graduated from Eagle River Union High School in 1963 and then attended Spencerian College in Milwaukee WI.                                                                                    In March of 1966 Judy married Ward Polzin. Judy and Ward had two children, Barry William and Marianne Kay during their marriage.                                                                                                              Judy then married Mike Campbell in June of 1978.                                                                                  The happiest time of Judy’s life, however, was when she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Glen Rozell, at their 50th class reunion. Judy and Glen picked up where they left off and married in 2017. They took up residency in Arizona where they were at the time of her passing.
Judy’s smiling face could be seen often in downtown Eagle River at Spiess Sporting Goods, Judy’s Closet or Speakeasy Tavern, all of which she owned/managed. Over the years Judy made many friends, both local and out of towners, while she was a hostess or waitressing at many of the area establishments.
Anyone who knew Judy knew she loved to laugh, loved to be surrounded by people, loved to have a good time and would give the shirt off her back if a friend was in need. Our earthly home will be a much quieter, and likely duller, place without her here. But let’s imagine the shindig going on in heaven as we speak. Not to mention some pretty intense cribbage games.
Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Spiess; parents, Charlie and Ruth; several aunts and uncles. Friends, Billy Mintner, Nancy Fessenbecker, Dorelle DeGoes and Ron Hollenagel. She is survived by her children, Barry and Marianne (Joe); sister, Barb (Mike) Waldera; love of her life, Glen Rozell and so many cousins and friends.                                                                                            We would like to extend a thank you to lifelong friends Karen Maxson, Lorretta Coulter, Sandy Weber, Kay Westling, Jim (Pat) Livermore, and Ginny Campbell. Also, to newfound friends, Peggy and Ralph, Joanne and Joe, Sheryl and Bill, and Onalie. You all made her life wonderful and full of love.
Celebrations of Life are currently being planned for both Arizona and Wisconsin and will be announced at a later date. Likely late spring and early summer.
