The Land O’ Lakes Historical Society recently held its annual meeting, drawing a record number of attendees.
Members and friends gathered to review the year’s progress and to hear presentations from Chris Tews and Lois Bates on the society’s achievements.
Tews reported that the museum welcomed 546 visitors this year, with many praising the second-year Sylvania exhibit produced by Grass Lake Images of Land O’ Lakes.
Bates shared highlights from the archives, including a newly acquired book on Bent’s Camp. She also announced that the history of Bent’s Camp will be the focus of the museum’s 2025 exhibition.
Other notable milestones included 75 guests at the museum’s opening party, school tours and visits from local groups. A total of 212 visitors toured in August alone.
These successes were made possible by the dedication of 23 volunteer docents and board members who keep the museum running.
